I have been an ENL/EFL teacher for about 12 years now. Formerly, I taught in Iran for almost 9 years, and I did a CELTA degree at Cambridge University in 2008. Being a CELTA certified ENL teacher, I taught in many different places and countries. In 2013, I decided to do another graduate degree in NY. So, I did my M.S.Ed. at Hofstra university which led to the NY state ENL certification. At the time, I worked on my Special Ed. degree to become dually certified in NY State. In 2015, I taught in an elementary school in Sea Cliff, NY and then I taught at Motthall Charter School in Bronx, and MS216Q Middle School in Queens as an ENL teacher. In 2016, I was offered a full ride at Ualbany to be advised by the distinguished professor Dr. Kecskes. Since then, I have been very grateful for the department has offered me several graduate courses to teach and supervise (e.g., ETAP 635, ETAP 598) which has enhanced my vision towards the academic life. I also do regular scholarly paper reviews for Dr. Kecskes’s journal of Pragmatics during the academic school year. I worked as a research assistant with SUNY Research Foundation in summer 2017, and I was honored to work as a lecturer at the IELP department in the summer 2018.
Fun fact: I am always in the library so feel free to stop by and chat! :) |
