Adele Touhey |
As of Fall 2018, Adele is in her third year of the PhD program in Curriculum & Instruction. Her focus is on Chinese as a Second Language (CSL). Within the field of CSL, Adele is aiming to deepen the knowledge base of the acquisition of Chinese word order structures by native English speakers learning Chinese as a second language. Her goal is to develop a new teaching methodology or curriculum that will assist learners in this process. Adele is also working towards a Master of Science in TESOL. Prior to coming into the program, Adele earned her B.A. in Linguistics and Chinese Studies from UAlbany, graduating summa cum laude in 2013. After graduating, Adele taught English abroad in Beijing, China. She aims to live and work abroad again after graduating (hopefully!) in 2021. Adele is also on the Events Planning team for ETAP DocS and would love to hear from you about what kinds of events you would like to attend. Finally, Adele is a huge coffee lover and is very friendly so if you see her around, please do not hesitate to grab her and go to Starbucks.
